# 2 – Additional rebates on energy efficient foodservice equipment

# 3 – Powerful tax incentives
The recently enacted economic stimulus package provides the perfect opportunity to replace worn out foodservice equipment. The stimulus package offers a one-year 50% bonus depreciation - meaning you can write off an extra 50% of the cost of your new foodservice equipment that you purchased and put into service in 2008.

In addition to the bonus depreciation, there is an increase to the amount that small businesses such as restaurants can write off for new equipment purchases in 2008 from the current $128,000 to $250,000. The cap on how much equipment can be purchased to take advantage of the write off has been increased from the current $510,000 to $800,000.

#4 – Eliminate the risk of an inconvenient “down time” due to equipment failure
Equipment failures always seem to happen just when you really need the equipment to perform the hardest. The economic stimulus package gives you the perfect opportunity to replace old and worn out equipment before an untimely breakdown leaves you scrambling to find a replacement. By purchasing new equipment before a major breakdown you have time to do comparison shopping and therefore won’t have to settle for “what’s available”.

#5 – Avoid impending costly repairs
Every foodservice operator knows that as equipment ages, the amount of money going towards maintenance and repairs increases. Replace sluggish and inefficient equipment with new equipment before it becomes the proverbial “money pit”.
