In addition to offering energy efficient equipment, we are also concerned about the materials that go into our products. Manitowoc Foodservice Group recently completed an extensive study on the environmental impact of the industry’s current foaming agents and has concluded that in many cases an alternative, water-based foam is the best choice for its global standards. The most recent efforts involve the adoption of an environmentally friendly foaming agent – water, which is considered to have zero direct global warming potential and is completely free of any concerns over toxicity, flammability or worker safety. This environmentally friendly “green” foam is now being used in ice machines and storage bins from our Manitowoc Ice Division. |
